Case Study: Ground mounted solar photovoltaic 245kWp
A 245kWp ground mounted solar PV system at Wadebridge, requiring a flexible approach and fast construction times, with minimum disruption.
- Client: Plug into the Sun
- Location: The Olde House, Penpont Farm, Wadebridge
- Date: 21st June 2011 – 29th June 2011
- Project size: 245kWp ground mounted solar PV system
- Groundscrews used: 340
- FLEXIII Framing: 530m
- Modules: 1050
- Trenching: Completed by the landowner
Across the entire site we discovered mudstone bedrock at 500mm below the surface. This meant that every Groundscrew® position needed to be pre-drilled with our Rock-Hammer system.
Although the drilling added one and a half days to the programme, we still completed the works two days ahead of schedule.
“We were one of the first ground mounted solar projects to be constructed in the UK and chose JPCS to undertake the mounting structure for us. They installed a Krinner Groundscrew system for our 250kWp solar array, which produces electricity for our holiday site, The Olde House. We are very pleased with the ground mount system and the way that JPCS installed it.” — Shaun Hawkey, The Olde House
